Julie Dawn spent the first half of her life in New Zealand and the second half in Britain, and feels that she belongs to some fictional country halfway between the two. She has written a collection of twelve short tales inspired by her dreams, The Wishing Tree and Other Dreams, and is currently working on her second collection. Her first novel was written when she was eleven, in the back of a campervan. She spends her days as a speech and language therapist helping people with communication problems, and in her spare time she champions mental health issues, and the human connection with the natural world. She currently lives in Oxfordshire with her husband.
