Peter Tickler

Peter Tickler’s writing career got off to a flying start with an article for a military modelling magazine for the grand sum of £20. In the 1980s, Peter wrote The Modern Mercenary, which was a major book club selection on both sides of the Atlantic and also translated into Portuguese. He has so far written three crime novels in his Blood in Oxford crime fiction series (Blood on the Cowley Road (2008), Blood in Grandpont (2010), Blood on the Marsh (2012). He has been praised for the authenticity of his Oxford (‘…a wonderful gift of creating geographically factual settings for his fictional characters’ Oxford Times) as well as the pace of his stories (‘deliciously thrilling and wildly unpredictable’ Oxford Today). He writes a regular column for the Mystery People e-zine and gives talks at festivals, libraries, U3As and even one of Her Majesty’s Prisons. He has recently turned his hand to screen writing, and two of his scripts have been turned into short films in the last year, one of them starring Jane Wymark (Midsomer Murders) and brother Tristram Wymark. Peter’s website is www.petertickler.co.uk and he can be contacted on petertickler@btinternet.com or on Twitter @ptickler.
